I love showing pictures of my wedding in 2015. I got married to the love of my life Kevin and it was a wonderful sunny day in Cork. The photo above shows our Vintage Fire Engine that Kevin borrowed from the Fire Station in Cork City Fire Brigade that transported us from the church to our venue. It was like being the queen for the day. As we passed through the city, people photographed us and clapped for us and it was the most wonderful experience. We shared a meal and danced the night away with our families and friends and it was such a magical day! Although we had a quick engagement at only 3 months, it took a lot of planning to get the day just right. One of the things that was important to me as a graphic designer was to get the wedding stationery design right. I feel that as the wedding invitation is often the first experience your guests will get of your wedding, it is the perfect place to set the tone for the kind of wedding you are planning to have and whet their appetites as to what is coming next.
I am a qualified and experienced graphic designer based in Cork, Ireland and I am passionate about weddings and love. I love being part of your special day and get very excited for all of my brides and grooms coming up to their wedding day.

“All you need is love”- The Beatles.
This was what I had written on my cake topper at my own wedding. I believe that the perfect wedding doesn’t have to cost a fortune and printable invitations offer a great solution for couples who want the luxury of great design on a DIY budget.
My digital wedding invitation and stationery downloads give you instant access to my designs, allowing you to save time and money while creating the wedding stationery of your dreams. Your wedding invitation is the main element of your wedding stationery and should reflect the type of wedding you will have. If you are looking to have a vintage themed wedding or a very formal wedding day, your invite design should reflect this.
The design you choose can also reflect your personality as a couple such as adding an element of fun for a fun-loving couple or keeping it traditional. It’s also a good idea to incorporate the colours you choose for your decor.
A big 2021 trend is emerald green and gold and this could be a winner for your invitations too by adding a touch of gold foil to emerald invitations.
No matter what colour or theme you choose, your invitation design is the ultimate way to set your tone for your wedding day.
Reply cards are a lovely keepsake for the couple and I know that I for one loved receiving the reply cards back from our guests in the run up to the wedding. Reply cards can take many formats from postcard style rsvps to cut out reply cards to now the addition of an email address or phone number to your invitation. These can be a great way to add some extra touches to your wedding such as adding a section for a song request and asking your DJ or band to play the songs of all of your guests on the day. This is a great tip to keep your guests on the dance floor!
Your stationery suite can include many elements and sometimes this can include extra details for out of town guests such as accommodation lists or directions from the airport. Some places will give a special wedding rate for guests and this is a great place to put this information so your guest will have it when they need it.
Save the date cards have become more and more popular in recent times, with our busy lives meaning that even before you send out your invitations, you can let your guests know to keep the date free. Save the dates can be a great way to add some extra fun elements to your stationery such as having save the date cards on a fridge magnet so that guests will see it all the time and won’t forget to add you in their calendar.
Save the dates can also be important for weddings abroad as guests may like to book their flights and accommodation in advance of the details being finalised to avail of cheaper prices.
If you decide to have an engagement party to celebrate that you are going to get married, it can be a good way to get the ball rolling with your wedding planning and to give your guests a teaser of what type of wedding you will have.
Wedding signage has also grown in popularity with many couples opting to match their decor to their stationery design. Signs that have instructions about social media etiquette or asking people to sit on a particular side of the church along with cocktail and sweet cart signage can all be designed to match, giving your wedding a sense of cohesion from start to finish.
It is always an exciting time when wedding guest figure out where they are seated and who they are sitting next to for the duration of the wedding celebrations. A well designed seating plan can look beautiful set against your wedding decor and can make it easier to inform guests of where they are sitting and help to move the crowd along quicker.
Table numbers have traditionally been numerical, however as weddings have become more personalised, so too have table numbers with names of places, celebrity couples or other special memories from the couple featuring as the name of the table. Simple numbers can still look beautiful set against your floral arrangements.
Some couples choose to decide where each person at a wedding will sit, and this can be a great way to get conversations going and to mix guests with others. It is also a nice way to carry the theme of your wedding stationery through to the table design.
It’s the main talk of the day how the food is and providing a well designed menu plan is the first step to a successful wedding dinner or banquet. Your menu design should clearly lay out the options and courses so that your guests know exactly what’s on the menu for the day.
After the day is over, and has become just a wonderful memory, it is always a nice idea to show gratitude to your guests for celebrating with you and for sending you gifts with a thank you card custom designed to complement your wedding theme. This can also be a great opportunity to share your favourite photograph of the day with guests and people who couldn’t make it.
I can custom draw a digital or a hand-drawn illustration or sketch of your venue to use on your wedding stationery or your favours. Wedding venue illustration is a great way to personalise your invitations. A personalised venue illustration can also make a thoughtful gift for a wedding couple of for your wedding anniversary as a item to frame. I started my career as an architecture student and I love to sketch buildings in pencil or to create a digital design of your venue.
Some love stories need to be told and a custom map telling your story or the story of how you will spend your wedding day can be a unique and wonderful addition to your bespoke wedding invitation. A custom map can also assist your guests to get to your venue and move around the different locations on the day.
Often there are additional items for your wedding stationery to make it extra special or to make it unique to you. I can help you to design and source your accessories such as personalised wax seals for your envelopes or your invitations, custom rubber stamps, heart shaped bark pieces or other wedding accessories for your stationery design.
To bring consistency through your wedding day, many couples create a monogram, a wedding logo that is used throughout the day from the menus to the favours and I can help you to design a logo that will not only work with your design, but that will reflect your personality too.
There are so many types of weddings now with different ceremonies that it can be a good idea to give your guests a program to help them to get involved in the ceremony itself. This can contain a who’s who of the bridal party so people can spot who to go to if they need anything as well as a guide to your special prayers thoughts or just a plan of your ‘I do’s’ and your music.
When I qualified as a Graphic Design graduate, I spent my first year working on the technical side of print as a ‘prepress operator’ working with everything from a single large format poster to a run of 3 million leaflets. I was responsible for making up keylines, making 4 colour and spot colour plates, laying out large book projects for print, and ensuring the set up of various finishes was to the correct specification. I was also directly involved with finishing the jobs on the print floor. This was where I got my broad knowledge of print design, and I can prepare your print file to any specification that you need for your stationery.
For weddings (and most other print projects), my favourite print finishes are gold foil and wax seal invitations. Nothing screams luxury wedding like a bespoke gold foil on your invitations. When I see a design that has something special like wax seals, I get excited for the wedding and I just know that it’s going to be a special day.
