Me and the other half Kevin Higgins all dressed up.

Still can’t believe that I won the ‘power within’ category of the Network Cork business woman of the year awards last night at the Fota Island Resort. Well done to the other finalists in this category- it was great to be surrounded by such a supportive group, and to all of the winners:

-Sandra Looney from To Have & To Hold, winner of Established Businesswoman category
-Gillian Roche from GE Healthcare, winner of Shining Star Employee category
-Aoife Behan from the Montenotte Hotel, winner of the Rising Star Employee category
-Sinead O’ Flynn from Health 4 U, winner of the STEM Professional category
-Orla McAndrew from Orla McAndrew Catering, winner of the Creative Professional category
-Cathy Fitzgibbon from The Culinary Celt, winner of the Solo Businesswoman category
-Noella Carroll from Pinnaklo Ltd, winner of the Emerging New Businesswoman category

and a special mention to Irene Wallace of Cork City Fire Brigade who received the president’s award, sponsored by Grant Thornton for her fantastic work with Cork City Fire Brigade. As you may know my husband Kevin is a colleague of Irene’s and that makes it particularly great in our family to have such a great female representative in this male dominated role, as a fantastic role model for our two daughters.

What an amazing event organised by our awards co-ordinator Ingrid Seim of Avenues Consultancy & Coaching, and our 2022 Network Cork president Maria Desmond of Enable Ireland and all of the committee. Thanks to Invesco for sponsoring the award and to Miriam Bourke for presenting it. Thanks to the fabulous Liz O’Sullivan from Marc Millinery who made the beautiful headpiece I wore, and as always thanks to my wonderful other half Kevin Higgins, and my parents for their support on the journey.

I will be sharing some of the fabulous images of the night over the next few days here and on my social media.
