Making your own content- be creative

Sometimes there are opportunities to make some content that you didn’t expect. I had a presentation yesterday evening and had booked at conference room at the brilliant Republic of Work

I have been thinking recently that I could badly do with some new headshots as my own are a few years old now and I have a different hair colour, but with the current restrictions it may not be so easy to do.

“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can”– Arthur Ashe. I had this quote written on the blackboard wall in my kitchen for a good few months and it’s something I often go back to. In this pandemic it s particularly relevant as we all need to use what we have access to and be creative with our resources.

As the meeting finished I had a couple of minutes free where I still had the room so I used my favourite screengrab software Snagit by TechSmith and Zoom to time some selfies of me in the conference room. It only took me a couple of minutes and I had such a great laugh doing it! I am generally the worst at taking selfies with my phone. There were some really funny pictures (and videos) but I actually came out with a couple of shots I will use again. The resolution is not the best and a professional would obviously do it better, but for now they work for me.

So seize the opportunity, step out of your comfort zone, have fun and you might just surprise yourself!
